CURRENT
INTERNSHIP POSITIONS FOR STUDENTS
*OUR TRAINING
PROGRAM accepts qualified students
in university and college training programs.
IF you are a POST-GRADUATE PhD, MFT or MSW, we DO NOT take volunteers for
licensing hours.
Instead, for MFTs and PSWs, please peruse the county jobs website at:
www.sccjobs.org for job opportunities
as an entry level MFT I/PSW I. PhDs are generally not a part of the make
up of our mental health department, but may be employed elsewhere in our
system such as in Valley Medical Center. PhDs can also peruse the jobs site
noted above under Clinical Psychologist. To get on a county hiring list,
you must initially apply and sit for a scored oral interview . As positions
come available, candidates on an active hiring list will be called to interview.
If currently applications are not being accepted, you can click to sign up
for an automated email notification system that will notify you when a list
is being generated.
NOTE: We currently have the
following internship openings as of: MAY 23, 2007
One
immediate MFT Trainee opening working with families, children and adolescents
(Spanish Speaking).
Two
MFT Trainee openings in our post jail release PALS program working with clients
on a short term intensive basis involving ongoing assessment, case management
and treatment. Assertive community based treatment program with clients dealing
with symptoms of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder,
significant depression, and PTSD, among other things. This is an exciting
and innovative program aimed at keeping mental health consumers living in
the community and preventing residivism in the jail and prison
system.
PhD/PsyD
STUDENTS:
WE CURRENTLY ARE NOT INTERVIEWING FOR 1-2 PhD/PsyD STUDENTS UNTIL MID-JUNE.
PLEASE CONTACT CHARLEY HODSON VIA EMAIL AFTER
