Stipend Program
We have a stipend program for Interns and Trainees completing our training program. All Interns are eligible to apply. For the past three academic years we have been able to fund all Interns requesting a stipend. This money is paid out as earned income and students receive a year-end W2 statement for this income. The amount of the stipend ranges from $1,000-6,000 depending upon the number of hours of the placement.
The Department works with the Financial Aid Department at San Jose State University with those students that are eligible for Work-Study funding. We are able to use a part of their stipend award to bring in additional Work-Study funds. This past year we were able to put a combined stipend and Work-Study package together for one of our Interns that totaled $8,700. We are open to doing this with other universities as well, however, we have found that most of the private universities prefer to keep these funds on campus in campus jobs.
